Our Journey

Providing gifts of support for students in need.
A 501(c)(3) organization, Education for Life, Inc., relies on charitable contributions and the Sun City Thrift Shop to fund its programs.

Angelo L. White, Sr. was serving in the United States Army in Germany when he received the news that his wife,  Lupe White, had been murdered in a senseless act of violence. Then living here in the Valley, Lupe was survived by the couple’s daughter, DeCiembre, who was only a year old at the time of her mother’s death.

His tragic loss has forever altered Mr. White’s life. Angelo and Lupe White met in college and shared an understanding of the importance of education.  While attending to the many responsibilities of fatherhood,  Angelo has dedicated himself, over the past 32 years, to making positive contributions to society in Lupe’s memory.  Ever mindful of the benefits of education, he originally initiated an annual bowling tournament & raffle. Uplifted by the impact of the Lupe White Scholarship Fund, Angelo has gone on to create the charitable organization Education For  Life, Inc. Operating under the guiding purpose of increasing literacy, the program provides financial support for children and young adults seeking to advance their education.

On June 1, 2012, Sun City Thrift Shop opened its doors to the public. The Thrift Shop is operated with the help of volunteers and your donations.

Proceeds from sales at the shop help to fund Education for Life projects. Some of these projects include helping teachers with supplies and activities and student scholarships.

We thank you sincerely for your patronage and continued support.
